0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Greg Bevin! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bevin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Sparks kicks Bevin off and gets back to his feet. Bevin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sparks napping and manages to drive through into side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bevin working away. Bevin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sparks is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bevin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sparks sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bevin throwing shots but missing, from side control. Sparks tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sparks wants to get back to his feet but Bevin drags him back down. Sparks sneaks back into half guard. Sparks regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bevin. Bevin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Bevin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bevin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bevin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bevin trying to control but Sparks is working from the bottom. Bevin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bevin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bevin wants to control from the top but Sparks keeps moving. Bevin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sparks's guard. Bevin sitting and controlling from the half guard. Sparks gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sparks working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bevin. Sparks trying to keep a closed guard but Bevin is proving a slippery customer.
Sparks has Bevin pulled in close to control his posture. Sparks wants to stand and escape but Bevin is having none of it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A combination from Bevin does no damage. Sparks throws a big counter combination but Bevin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Bevin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sparks drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bevin sprawls and moves away. Bevin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bevin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Sparks trying to land knees to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sparks can't find room to land a body shot as Bevin controls the action.
Sparks keeps control of Bevin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sparks lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Bevin decides to pull guard. Sparks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bevin has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sparks has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Sparks tries to throw a body punch but Bevin avoids it by throwing Sparks back against the cage. Sparks tries a body shot but Bevin blocks it.

Bevin throws a series of punches but Sparks moves out of range. Bevin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bevin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Sparks is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bevin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Bevin is trying to control. Sparks wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Sparks is trying to escape back to his feet but Bevin uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Bevin is trying to push Sparks away but Sparks has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Bevin tries to break the clinch but Sparks is controlling the position. Bevin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sparks swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bevin with a flurry of punches that miss. Bevin wants to control from the top but Sparks keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Bevin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bevin is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet.
