3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas St Genies! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sachz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Sachz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. St Genies quickly recovers to half guard. St Genies slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sachz is fighting to break St Genies's control of his arms but St Genies is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sachz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sachz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Sachz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sachz content to stall in guard here. Sachz is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Sachz cracks St Genies with a solid left hand. St Genies has control of Sachz's left arm, preventing Sachz from doing any damage. Sachz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sachz looking to pass the guard. St Genies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sachz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. St Genies wants to sweep but no luck. Sachz working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sachz's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Sachz scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Sachz wants to control from the top but St Genies keeps moving. Sachz stands up over St Genies, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. St Genies looking for a sweep. Not yet St Genies, not yet. Sachz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Sachz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down St Genies for as long as he can get away with. Sachz is looking to work some ground and pound but St Genies has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sachz trying to control but St Genies is working from the bottom. St Genies is trying to control the position but Sachz postures up. Sachz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Sachz is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Sachz chips away with some ground and pound. Sachz controls St Genies momentarily but St Genies frees himself. Sachz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but St Genies can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. St Genies wanted to stand there but Sachz had control of the position. Sachz looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sachz tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

St Genies digs a good body shot into Sachz's ribs. Sachz shoots in but no luck this time. Sachz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from St Genies. St Genies digs a good hook to Sachz's body.
Sachz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. St Genies catches Sachz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! St Genies throws a lazy right hand but Sachz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. St Genies throws a body shot but no joy. St Genies jabs Sachz to the body, keeping him at a distance. St Genies scores with a nice strike. St Genies wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. St Genies looks to score with a jab to the body but Sachz is just out of range. Sachz feinted with a counter takedown. St Genies fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sachz manages to avoid it. Sachz drives through with a takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. St Genies is trying to control the position but Sachz postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sachz stands and throws St Genies's legs to the side, diving into side control. St Genies is looking to reverse the position. St Genies is not content to let Sachz control the position. Check out the look on Sachz's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if St Genies can do anything to dispel that myth. Sachz trying to control the action but St Genies is working from the bottom. St Genies takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Sachz tries to move to mount but St Genies blocks the move with his legs. St Genies is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sachz is controlling him well. You can see the frustration on St Genies's face as Sachz controls the position. St Genies takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Sachz is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. St Genies looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sachz gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. St Genies is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sachz lets go of the hold and St Genies can pop his arm back in it's socket.
