The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irvin tries for a takedown but Picker circles away easily
enabling Picker to counter with a crisp jab.
Picker scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Irvin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Picker pinned against the cage. Picker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've been informed that Picker has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Picker moves into range and connects with a jab.
Picker lands with a hook. Irvin tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Picker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Irvin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Oh Irvin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Irvin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Irvin drops his hands for a split second and Picker immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Irvin face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Picker follows up with a right hand that knocks Irvin into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
