Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin BK (ranked 128 p4p, 15 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 408 p4p, 57 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Benjamin BK! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shifter drives through and clinches with BK against the cage.
Shifter tries to pull guard but BK won't allow it.
Shifter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. BK is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. BK presses Shifter against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A nice right hand lands inside from BK. BK lands a right hand. Shifter prevents the takedown attempt.
BK has a couple of punches blocked by Shifter.
Shifter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. BK is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Benjamin BK has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shape Shifter. BK is defending well against a takedown attempt. BK can't find room to land a body shot as Shifter controls the action.
A short body shot lands from BK as the two fighters clinch.
Shifter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. BK avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Shifter goes for a takedown attempt but BK pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
BK throws a hook but Shifter blocks it. Shifter let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shifter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shifter instigates a clinch. BK can't find room to land a body shot as Shifter controls the action.

BK postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. BK keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shifter's head. Shifter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. BK is aware though and is defending well. BK scores with a decent looking elbow strike. BK landing some decent shots from guard. BK has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. BK is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. BK working some strikes from top position. BK is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Shifter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Shifter keeps trying to improve his position. BK postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Shifter is rocked! BK gets to his feet and stands over Shifter, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Shifter felt that one! BK unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Shifter from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benjamin BK! Benjamin BK retains his light heavyweight title! Our winner, Benjamin BK, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
