Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor Fitzpatrick (ranked 5478 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Alesund (ranked 25283 p4p, 0 weight class). Christopher Alesund will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Conor Fitzpatrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Christopher Alesund! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alesund clinches. Alesund lands a knee to the body.
Fitzpatrick drops down looking for an ankle pick but Alesund pulls his leg out and moves away.
Alesund shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fitzpatrick sprawls well. Fitzpatrick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alesund gets slowly back to his feet. Fitzpatrick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Fitzpatrick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Alesund not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fitzpatrick controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Fitzpatrick sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alesund's guard. Fitzpatrick looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzpatrick trying to control the pace. Fitzpatrick is looking for a kimura but Alesund is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fitzpatrick to get the leverage. Fitzpatrick with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Fitzpatrick has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Alesund defend it? Fitzpatrick steps over the head and cranks it - Alesund is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Fitzpatrick!
