Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Galf Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Sypes! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sypes throws a sloppy head kick and Nelson moves out of range easily. Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sypes moves away. Sypes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sypes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nelson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sypes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nelson's waist but Nelson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sypes off to one side. Galf Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sypes throws a head kick that misses. Nelson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Sypes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Nelson is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Sypes is tapping! Great win for Nelson!
