Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Booker (ranked 1608 p4p, 175 weight class) and Danilo Gentili (ranked 2937 p4p, 291 weight class). Danilo Gentili told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danilo Gentili! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gentili shoots in looking for a takedown but Booker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gentili's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gentili shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Booker as he avoids it easily. Booker half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Maxwell Booker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danilo Gentili. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gentili. Gentili has a takedown stuffed. Gentili shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Booker but Booker pushes him off and we're back to square one. Nice takedown defense from Booker. No joy for Gentili on that attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gentili has a takedown stuffed. Gentili is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Booker is staying active. Booker looks up at the clock and then as Gentili takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Booker smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Gentili is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Booker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Gentili tries to buck Booker off but Booker is having none of it. Gentili taking a bit of punishment here - Booker scoring with strikes. Booker landing strikes. Gentili wants to control but Booker postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gentili is looking for a sweep. Booker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Booker is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gentili is trying to escape and Booker transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gentili is forced to tap! Nice work there by Booker! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Maxwell Booker! A relieved looking Maxwell Booker thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
