Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Malone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pebble Braithweight! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Braithweight changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Malone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Malone is looking for a sweep. Braithweight tries to move into full mount but can't pass Malone's legs. Malone struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Braithweight wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Braithweight is looking to take a break and control but Malone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Malone throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Braithweight darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Braithweight trying to mount his opponent but Malone defends it. Malone wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malone is not content to let Braithweight control the position. Malone wants to stand back up but Braithweight manages to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Malone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Braithweight works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Braithweight decides to stand back up. Braithweight steps back and let's Malone get back to his feet. Braithweight checks the leg kick nicely there.

A combination from Malone does no damage. Braithweight darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Malone is breathing heavily. Braithweight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Malone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malone wants to get back to full guard. Braithweight wants to free his trapped foot but Malone is holding on for dear life with his legs. Malone is not content to let Braithweight control the position. Braithweight is pressing down on Malone's thigh, looking to free his foot. Malone is holding on for now. Braithweight is just content to waste time from the top position. Malone takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Malone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Braithweight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Braithweight manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Malone wants to stand and escape but Braithweight is having none of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Braithweight bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Malone is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Braithweight is controlling him well. Malone is trying to control Braithweight's posture but Braithweight avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malone is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Braithweight's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Malone makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Malone. Malone trying to control the position.
Braithweight drops back, looking for a kneebar! Malone looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Malone looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Malone! Malone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Braithweight manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Braithweight works his way to full guard. Good work. Malone postures up.
Braithweight is pulling down on Malone's head. It's preventing any offense from Malone, at least for the moment. Braithweight working a defensive guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malone in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Braithweight has his feet on Malone's thighs here. He's pushed Malone off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Malone screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
