The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Troy Wren shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bubba Wren as he jumps to the side.
Troy Wren shoots in but no luck this time.
Bubba Wren lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Bubba Wren fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Troy Wren misses with a low kick.
Troy Wren gets caught napping as Bubba Wren dives in and scores a takedown. Troy Wren manages to retain guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bubba Wren accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bubba Wren takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Let's hope that Bubba Wren has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Troy Wren has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bubba Wren is on him like a limpet, forcing Troy Wren back against the cage.
Bubba Wren tries to pull guard but Troy Wren holds him up against the cage and eventually Bubba Wren drops back down to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Troy Wren changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bubba Wren tries to avoid it but Troy Wren manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bubba Wren to the ground. Bubba Wren escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Troy Wren shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Troy Wren tried to score with a low kick but Bubba Wren checks it.

Bubba Wren darts in looking for a takedown but Troy Wren gets double underhooks and turns Bubba Wren into the cage.

Troy Wren closes the distance and clinches up with Bubba Wren, looking for a takedown. Troy Wren pushes Bubba Wren against the cage but Bubba Wren circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bubba Wren.
Bubba Wren gets caught flat footed, as Troy Wren shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Troy Wren is standing up over Bubba Wren. Bubba Wren looks to escape but Troy Wren dives into side control.

Troy Wren comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Troy Wren will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Troy Wren misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bubba Wren has managed to clinch.
Bubba Wren jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Troy Wren walks away with a smile on his face. Bubba Wren gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Troy Wren is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Troy Wren tries to clinch but Bubba Wren moves out of range.
Troy Wren shoots in and bounces Bubba Wren off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bubba Wren wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Troy Wren manages to pass to side control.

Bubba Wren tries to close the distance and clinch but Troy Wren swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Troy Wren decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bubba Wren is breathing heavily.
Troy Wren is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bubba Wren is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
