Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Baim (ranked 6764 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Kain (ranked 6662 p4p, 0 weight class). Baim comes to the cage accompanied by Yahoo. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conor Baim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Kain!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kain tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Baim manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kain lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Baim backs up against the cage.

Kain drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kain tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Baim manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kain pushes Baim off looking to stand but Baim dives back in and keeps control.
Kain wants to control but Baim is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kain is looking to get back to full guard here but Baim has managed to pass to side control instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Baim tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Baim has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kain wants to control but Baim postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Baim controls the position.
The strikes coming from Baim are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kain tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Baim wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Baim sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kain is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Baim decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kain to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Baim. No joy for Kain on that attempt.

Baim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baim comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Baim stuffs the takedown attempt from Kain. Kain gets slowly back to his feet.
Baim tries to counter with a takedown but Kain is quick to defend against it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Baim is defended easily by Kain.

Baim closes the distance and clinches.
Baim tries to pull guard but Kain won't allow it.
Kain tries to score a body lock takedown but Baim shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Baim ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Baim no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Baim is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Baim pulls Kain in close to his closed guard and prevents Kain from doing any damage or advancing position.

Baim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kain's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Baim is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Baim is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baim manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kain manages to get himself to full guard.

Baim throws a sloppy head kick and Kain moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
As Kain tries to get set, Baim tries to push him back and clinch up but Kain manages to avoid the attempt.
Conor Baim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Baim fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Baim doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Kain is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kain shoots for a takedown but Baim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Baim shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kain but Kain pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Kain shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baim defends it nicely.
It looked like Baim was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Baim fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Baim takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baim is fending him off so far but Kain persists. Nope, Baim circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Baim was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Kain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kain dives in and grabs Baim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baim pushes down on Kain's head and hops out.

Kain looks to land a body kick but Baim moved away.
Baim shoots in looking for a takedown. Kain tries to sprawl out of it but Baim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kain finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Baim misses the target.
Sam Kain seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Baim gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kain to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Baim manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Conor Baim showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Baim, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
