Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Lake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lake is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Gears. Ricky Vaughn had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Lake! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lake closes the distance and clinches up with Vaughn, looking for a takedown. Lake pushes Vaughn against the cage but Vaughn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Vaughn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lake decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vaughn's guard. Lake preventing the sweep. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lake passes Vaughn's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Vaughn trying to control but Lake postures up.
Vaughn tries to get to full guard but Lake has control of the leg. Vaughn controlling the position for now. Lake is pressing down on Vaughn's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vaughn is holding on for now. Lake is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lake not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lake is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Vaughn still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Vaughn has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! The referee stands the fighters back up. Ricky Vaughn just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Vaughn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vaughn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Vaughn is breathing heavily. Lake is squirming around, avoiding Vaughn's attempts to control the action. Lake is bucking up trying to escape but Vaughn cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Lake is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Vaughn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lake slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Lake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vaughn is working away from the top position though. Lake wants to get back to full guard. Still in half guard, Vaughn seems content to control. Lake has hold of Vaughn's hands but Vaughn slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Vaughn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Vaughn is keen to just control but Lake is a slippery customer. Vaughn content to control rather than advance.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Vaughn fails with the takedown and Lake counters with a leg kick. Lake fails with the takedown and Vaughn counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Vaughn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lake keeps working. Lake sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Lake is looking to improve his position.

Vaughn feints and as Lake raises his hands in defense, Vaughn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Vaughn controlling from the top position. Vaughn lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Vaughn trying to control but Lake is working from the bottom. Vaughn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lake utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lake can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vaughn controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lake has his foot on Vaughn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vaughn works his way back into a safe position though. Vaughn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Lake had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vaughn is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lake Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vaughn's back instead. Lake gets his hands free as Vaughn looks to control. Vaughn's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Lake's hands.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vaughn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Vaughn controls Lake momentarily but Lake frees himself. Vaughn keeping full guard, as Lake tries to pass. Vaughn has Lake pulled in close to control his posture. Lake trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaughn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vaughn pulls Lake in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vaughn tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vaughn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vaughn tries to get out of the position. Lake with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Vaughn wants to hold on but Lake pushes him away. Ricky Vaughn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lake has control of Vaughn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vaughn regains control of the situation pretty easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Ricky Vaughn showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vaughn, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
