Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordan Maloney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Master Ramos! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maloney has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ramos tries for a takedown but Maloney manages to get underhooks.
Maloney has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ramos clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Maloney doesn't have the hooks in and Ramos manages to turn into his guard.
Maloney is looking for a triangle but Ramos pushes his legs off easily.
Maloney is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ramos is aware though and is defending well. Maloney will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Ramos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Maloney is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ramos, into his guard.
Maloney has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maloney is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ramos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maloney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ramos is tightening it up a little... Maloney has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Maloney reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Maloney taps out! Nice BJJ there by Ramos!
