Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom McGettigan (ranked 669 p4p, 113 weight class) and Tyrus Cobb (ranked 3402 p4p, 449 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGettigan defending well as Cobb loads up on a big left hand.

Cobb's corner calls for a 1-2. Cobb obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
McGettigan throws a right and a left that Cobb avoids nicely.

and McGettigan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cobb thinking.
McGettigan lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Nice uppercut lands for Cobb. That snapped McGettigan's head back.
McGettigan tries to move into range but Cobb moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Cobb throws a shot from downtown. McGettigan moves away and avoids it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cobb closes the distance and pushes McGettigan back into the cage.

McGettigan was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Cobb missing with a left hand there. McGettigan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tom McGettigan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and McGettigan scores with a counter punch that sends Cobb to the canvas! McGettigan smells blood - he's punishing Cobb with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Cobb has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom McGettigan!
After winning the bout, Tom McGettigan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
