The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a hook but Hooj avoids it easily.
We've been told by Williams's head coaches at Jed's Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Hooj ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Williams moves away.
Williams dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hooj. That did some damage!

Williams was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Hooj tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Williams was well out of range. Poor timing from Hooj.
Williams has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Oooooh!!! Hooj has knocked Williams down with a huge combo! Hooj steps away and waves a wobbly Williams back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hooj lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Williams up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Hooj from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Williams's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
