Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Bylund (ranked 1124 p4p, 174 weight class) and Mallador Locke (ranked 1264 p4p, 192 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Bylund!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mallador Locke!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locke staying out of range there.
A big left from Bylund misses.
Locke looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Locke gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bylund counters with a right hand to the body.
Good shot there by Locke.
Bylund throws an overhand right that lands on Locke's shoulder, as Locke tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bylund's corner calls for a 1-2. Bylund obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bylund throws a hook to the side of Locke's head but Locke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Locke sizes up Bylund with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Locke works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Bylund lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Bylund counters with a straight right hand.
Bylund swings for the body but Locke moves out of range.
Bylund takes a swing at Locke's ribcage but misses.
Bylund scores with a jab to the body.
Bylund listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Bylund stuffs the takedown.
David Bylund has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mallador Locke.

Bylund lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Locke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bylund.
Locke looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bylund fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bylund ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Locke moves away.
David Bylund seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Locke throws a jab but it's blocked by Bylund.
Locke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bylund defends it nicely.
Bylund throws a hook to the side of Locke's head but Locke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A little jabbing left from Locke on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bylund shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bylund scores with a jab to the head.
We've been told by Bylund's head coaches at Rabid Dog that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Locke moves forwards but Bylund connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Bylund throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Locke! But no joy.
Bylund looks to throw the jab but Locke is out of range.
It seemed like Locke was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Locke fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bylund lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bylund lands a slapping body shot.
Bylund throws a sloppy body shot
and Locke counters with a straight right hand.
Locke is looking to clinch but Bylund is avoiding it.
Locke with a poor takedown
and Bylund counters with a straight right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bylund misses with a straight left.
It seemed like Locke was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Bylund drops Locke with a beautiful combination! Locke stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bylund is looking for the KO!


Locke is rocked!
Locke walks into a stiff left hand from Bylund.
Locke is still on wobbly legs! Can Bylund finish him?
Bylund throws a lazy uppercut

and Locke counters with a takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Bylund dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Locke shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bylund staying out of range there.
It looked like Bylund wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Locke seems to have recovered his senses.
Bylund misses the shot to the body.

Bylund lands a big right hand that sends Locke crashing to the mat! Bylund stays standing though and waves Locke back to his feet!
Bylund throws a lazy uppercut
and Locke counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bylund drops Locke with a naaaaasty hook - Locke is in real trouble here! Bylund dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Bylund!
The defeated Mallador Locke had this to say: 'I'll be back. Simple. I'll be back.'.
