The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sledd closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Sledd pushes Carter against the cage but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sledd throws a push kick but Carter slaps the foot to one side.
Carter connects with a looping right hand.

It looks like Melvin Sledd has been cut.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sledd as he avoids it easily.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Carter has eaten all the pies!

and Carter counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sledd won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sledd can't do much from the bottom here.
