Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between John Gites (ranked 10355 p4p, 0 weight class) and Longfellow Deeds (ranked 14948 p4p, 0 weight class). Gites comes into the arena with Eminem - Above The Law blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 9 losses; John Gites! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 3 losses; Longfellow Deeds! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Gites feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gites (2) vs (0) Deeds Deeds not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Deeds has control of Gites's left arm, preventing Gites from doing any damage. Gites wants to control from the top but Deeds keeps moving. Gites stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Deeds swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gites is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gites trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gites is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Deeds has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Gites is looking to defend but Deeds has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Gites! Deeds pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Gites taps out and this one is all over!
