Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Millard Crawford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Kain!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kain fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Crawford to the ground. Kain is now in Crawford's guard.
Kain looking to sit in guard and control but Crawford gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Crawford slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kain wants to sweep but no luck.

Kain trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crawford is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Crawford drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Crawford jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Crawford has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kain doesn't manage to clinch there - Crawford circles away.
Crawford seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Crawford seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kain for as long as he can get away with.
Kain wants to get back to full guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kain is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Crawford scores with a couple of nice shots.

Crawford wants to work for an arm triangle but Kain is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crawford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Crawford is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Crawford is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kain is just riding it out for now. Crawford eventually gives up the hold.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Crawford counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Crawford.
Crawford works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Crawford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kain wants to get back to his feet.
Crawford seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Crawford is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kain can do to turn this around?

Crawford is nestled in close to Kain, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Crawford is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kain is just riding it out for now. Crawford eventually gives up the hold.

Kain is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Crawford pulls his head out easily.

Crawford is thwarting Kain's attempts to control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Crawford in particular looking to stall.

Crawford looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Crawford connects with a nice short shot to Kain's temple.

Crawford is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kain defends it well.

Crawford's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Crawford lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crawford perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kain trying to control but Crawford postures up.
Crawford keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Millard Crawford overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kain has hold of Crawford's hands but Crawford slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Crawford instigates a clinch.
Kain is trying to push Crawford away but Crawford has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kain is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Crawford can't fight it off and eventually Kain manages to take the fight to the floor. Crawford looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Crawford looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Kain is defending well. Crawford quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kain has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Crawford celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
