The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Le throws a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Le. No luck for Zidane with that takedown attempt. We've been hearing reports that Zidane has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Le clobbers Zidane with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Zidane takes a kick to the side of the head. Le darts in and clinches Zidane up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Le prevents a takedown attempt there.
Zidane has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Le is trying to keep an underhook but Zidane manages to get the takedown into half guard. Le is staying active underneath Zidane, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Le tries to roll over but Zidane keeps him under control. Zidane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Le's head. Zidane throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Le has hold of Zidane's hands but Zidane slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
It looks like Kung Le has been cut. Le avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Zidane. Zidane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That has opened up Kung Le's cut even more. Zidane working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The cut above Kung Le's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Zidane thows a huge punch but Le dodges it nicely.
Zidane stops Le from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Le can do anything to dispel that myth. Zidane slips a nice elbow through Le's hands, connecting with Le's forehead. Le is not content to let Zidane control the position. Zidane looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Le has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zidane is working away from the top position though. Zidane working Le over with strikes.
Kung Le's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kung Le's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Zarko Zidane! A very excited looking Zarko Zidane made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
