Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kian Mcvay (ranked 24723 p4p, 621 weight class) and Lawrence Fairchild (ranked 23464 p4p, 627 weight class). Mcvay comes to the cage accompanied by The xx -intro . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kian Mcvay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lawrence Fairchild! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcvay shoots in and gets a takedown into Fairchild's guard. Fairchild is pulling down on Mcvay's head to control his posture. Mcvay working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Mcvay slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mcvay seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fairchild for as long as he can get away with. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcvay won't allow Fairchild to sweep him here. Mcvay sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mcvay clinches. Mcvay tightens his grip and picks Fairchild up, before dumping him to the ground. Fairchild manages to land in guard. Mcvay won't allow Fairchild to sweep him here. Mcvay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mcvay content to stall in guard here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Mcvay fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fairchild sprawls well initially but Mcvay persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mcvay landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Fairchild wants to get back to full guard. Mcvay slows the pace down in half guard. Fairchild is defending against the submission attempts here by Mcvay.
Mcvay content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fairchild wants to get back to full guard. Mcvay is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fairchild wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fairchild tries to keep at a distance but Mcvay has taken the fight into the clinch. Mcvay has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fairchild clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Mcvay is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Fairchild has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Mcvay keeps control of the position easily here as Fairchild tries to buck him off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcvay throwing sloppy strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fairchild has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Mcvay. Fairchild trying to control the hands but Mcvay breaks the grip. Fairchild tries to break free.

Mcvay really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Fairchild.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mcvay is working the back position looking for the choke.
