Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva has chosen Its dark and hell is hot as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva pushes Mir up against the cage in a clinch. Silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Mir prevents the takedown attempt.
Mir fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mir tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Mir drops back down to his feet.
Silva lands a big knee to the head and Mir goes down! Silva is looking to finish!
Mir is rocked!
It looks like Josh Mir has been cut. Silva decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mir to his feet. Oh Mir is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mir misses with a wild combination.
Mir seems to have got his legs back now. Mir closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard. Silva wants to sweep but no luck. Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mir is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is looking for a triangle but Mir pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Silva keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mir content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Mir passes Silva's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mir trying to control the pace. Mir has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mir thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.
Silva wants to get back to full guard. Mir wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it. Silva has one foot on Mir's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Silva as Mir shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva tries to clinch there but Mir circles away.

Silva wants to clinch. Mir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side. Silva throws a body kick that misses. Silva moves in looking to clinch but Mir pushes him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir throws a push kick but Silva slaps the foot to one side. Silva takes the fight into the clinch. Mir tries to pull guard but Silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Mir drops back down to his feet.
Mir stalling in the clinch but Silva improves position. Silva lands a nice knee to the body. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva closes the distance and lands a one-two. Mir avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Silva creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mir's defenses. Silva lands an elbow inside. Silva decides to pull guard. Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mir stands up from guard. Let's bang! Silva rushes Mir and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Silva unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mir lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Silva with a knee to the head.
Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mir lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively. Mir fails with the takedown. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva scores with a one two! Mir had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Silva closes the distance and clinches. Mir avoiding damage as Silva throws knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Silva dominated that round. The cut man is working on Josh Mir's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No luck for Mir with that takedown attempt. Silva gets a clinch. Mir tries to stall but Silva uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mir has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Silva creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Silva prevents Mir from breaking the clinch. Silva prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice elbow from Silva. Silva with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Silva successfully pulls guard.
Mir wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position. Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Mir is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva stands up and beckons Mir to join him on the feet. Silva scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mir backs up against the cage.
Mir tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance. Silva rushes Mir and presses him up against the cage. Silva is trying to drag Mir to the mat but Mir just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Silva gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mir.
Silva breaks from the clinch.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Mir pushes him off. Silva clinches but Mir breaks the clinch and Mir counters by moving into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir fails to pull guard.
Silva lands an elbow just above Mir 's eye. Silva lands a nice shot to the body. Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mir trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. Silva is trying to keep Mir in close.
Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mir is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mir's back instead. Silva doesn't have the hooks in and Mir manages to turn into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva has his feet on Mir's thighs here. He's pushed Mir off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mir screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
