Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lawrence Tureaud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vladimir The Great!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Great will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vladimir The Great seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tureaud tries to clinch but fails miserably

so The Great counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Tureaud looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The Great is pushing down on Tureaud's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tureaud is fighting to maintain full guard but The Great has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tureaud definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tureaud has hold of The Great's hands but The Great slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The Great slips a nice elbow through Tureaud's hands, connecting with Tureaud's forehead.
Still in half guard, The Great seems content to control.
Tureaud knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Great on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tureaud tries to kick The Great off in order to stand up. The Great Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Tureaud takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The Great advances to full mount.
Tureaud might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Great takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The Great is standing up, even though he is in mount.

The Great shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tureaud napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tureaud on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tureaud tries to get out of the position.
The Great remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Tureaud bucks up and tries to throw The Great off but instead The Great has got his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tureaud is trying to defend against the choke here but The Great has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. The Great Tightens the hold and Tureaud taps out furiously! The Great displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vladimir The Great!
Lawrence Tureaud was interviewed post fight and said 'I pity the fool who thinks he can beat me. Admit it, fool, you are a cheater. Mr. T don't like no cheaters. You better watch out because I'm coming for you, fool!'.
