Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amsterdam Vallon! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hirigushi cracks Vallon with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Hirigushi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vallon manages to avoid it. Hirigushi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Vallon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hirigushi throws out the jab. Hirigushi misses with a wild body shot. Hirigushi lands with a hook. Vallon tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Vallon ducks under a wild hook from Hirigushi. Hirigushi gets a clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Hirigushi. Hirigushi tries to work over Vallon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hirigushi lands a left hand.
Hirigushi lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vallon backwards. Vallon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hirigushi lands with a left to the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vallon is trying to push Hirigushi away but Hirigushi has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Hirigushi lands a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hirigushi works on Vallon's body with a couple of short punches. Hirigushi keeps control of Vallon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hirigushi manages to break the clinch.

Hirigushi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vallon's efforts to push away. Hirigushi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Vallon is trying to break the clinch but Hirigushi has him pressed against the ropes. Vallon is looking to break free of the clinch but Hirigushi has double underhooks. A nice right hand lands inside from Hirigushi. Hirigushi lands on the inside with an uppercut. Hirigushi lands a body shot in the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vallon tries to break the clinch but Hirigushi is controlling the position. Hirigushi lands a right hand. Hirigushi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hirigushi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Arm Breakers/BJJ in the buildup to the fight. Vallon throws a nice looking combination but Hirigushi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hirigushi jabs Vallon to the body, keeping him at a distance. Vallon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hirigushi manages to avoid it. Hirigushi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vallon. Vallon walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Hirigushi rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Vallon has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Vallon is rocked! Vallon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Vallon is still on wobbly legs! Can Hirigushi finish him? Vallon gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Hirigushi closes the distance and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vallon is looking to break free of the clinch but Hirigushi has double underhooks. Vallon seems to have recovered his senses. A right hook to the body lands for Hirigushi.

Hirigushi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vallon doesn't seem bothered though. Hirigushi darts in and clinches Vallon up against the ropes. Hirigushi lands a shoulder strike. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vallon takes a shot to the head. A left hand lands to the body for Hirigushi.

Hirigushi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Vallon is trying to force a seperation but Hirigushi has the dominant position. Hirigushi has Vallon pressed against the ropes, preventing Vallon from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Still in the clinch, Hirigushi scores with a nice short uppercut. Hirigushi lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Vallon or not. A right hand to the body from Hirigushi.

The referee sends Hirigushi to a neutral corner as Vallon gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way. Vallon drops his guard momentarily, allowing Hirigushi to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Vallon! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Hirigushi takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Kendo Hirigushi! Kendo Hirigushi is the new featherweight champion! A very excited looking Kendo Hirigushi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. The defeated Amsterdam Vallon had this to say: 'Thank you everyone and much respect to my opponent on a good fight. I will train harder and get better, believe that!'.
