Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Murphy (ranked 5441 p4p, 650 weight class) and Vahan Karamyenyan (ranked 2026 p4p, 291 weight class). Murphy comes to the cage accompanied by Róisín Murphy - Primitive. Karamyenyan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bonecrusher - Saw Theme Remix. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
44 - 30 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vahan Karamyenyan! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy throws a hook to the side of Karamyenyan's head but Karamyenyan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Karamyenyan tries to land a front kick but Murphy steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Karamyenyan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Murphy throws out the jab. Both fighters circling a little - Karamyenyan finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Murphy chopping away at his opponent's legs.

A jab from Karamyenyan does it's job there. Murphy tries to work over Karamyenyan's front leg with a kick but Karamyenyan checks it. Karamyenyan throws a nice inside leg kick. Murphy clinches up with Karamyenyan and pushes him back against the cage. Karamyenyan blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Murphy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Karamyenyan throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Murphy stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Karamyenyan follows into mount!
It looks like Brian Murphy has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karamyenyan looking to ground and pound but Murphy is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karamyenyan throws a strike there. Murphy manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Karamyenyan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murphy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Murphy is trying to control but can't.
Karamyenyan slows the pace down in half guard. Karamyenyan maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Murphy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Karamyenyan has cracked it and Murphy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Karamyenyan!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Vahan Karamyenyan! An out of breath Vahan Karamyenyan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. The defeated Brian Murphy had this to say: 'Can I still cut it?'.
