Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Holton Hamburger (ranked 4079 p4p, 475 weight class) and Layne Staley (ranked 2670 p4p, 336 weight class). Staley has chosen Junkhead as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Holton Hamburger has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Holton Hamburger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Layne Staley! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamburger fails with the takedown and Staley counters with a takedown into side control. Hamburger is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Staley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hamburger, who protects the arm well. Staley trying to control the action but Hamburger is working from the bottom. Hamburger tries to bench press Staley off him but Staley keeps the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Staley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hamburger tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamburger is trying to control Staley's posture but Staley avoids it. Hamburger manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hamburger is defending against the submission attempts here by Staley.
Staley prevents Hamburger from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Staley tries to pass to full mount but Hamburger defends it. Hamburger moves into full guard.
Hamburger lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hamburger works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hamburger tries to pass the half guard into mount. Staley knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hamburger throwing shots but Staley is blocking nicely. Staley gets full guard. Staley trying to control the position.
Hamburger advances position into side control! Hamburger wants to control but Staley is keeping him busy. Hamburger wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Staley, who protects the arm well. Hamburger tries to move to mount but Staley blocks the move with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Staley is not content to let Hamburger control the position. Staley looking for a sweep but Hamburger has passed into full mount! Oh no! Hamburger working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Staley bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Staley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hamburger is keeping the position for now. Staley is still trying to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hamburger is looking to cinch up a triangle. Staley throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hamburger's body to avoid the submission. Hamburger has instead reached around Staley's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hamburger arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Holton Hamburger! Holton Hamburger tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
