Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jacks (ranked 1285 p4p, 175 weight class) and Alexander Usikov (ranked 1583 p4p, 212 weight class). Brian Jacks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Jacks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Usikov! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Usikov. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Usikov. Usikov misses with a two punch combination.
Good standup being displayed there by Usikov as he connects with a hook. Jacks takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jacks on the wrong end of a nice hook. Jacks looks to land a right hand but Usikov moved out of range. Usikov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jacks is out of range and Usikov settles back down. Jacks feinted with a counter takedown. Usikov throws a hook to the side of Jacks's head but Jacks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jacks lands a nice hook to Usikov's body. Usikov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Jacks ducks under a wild hook from Usikov. Jacks throws an overhand right that lands on Usikov's shoulder, as Usikov tries to avoid the shot. Jacks waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Usikov. Usikov throws a hook but Jacks avoids it easily. Jacks attempts a counter takedown but Usikov avoids it well and moves away. Jacks keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Usikov. Usikov will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Usikov misses with a body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jacks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Usikov did well to prevent Jacks getting side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Usikov can do anything to dispel that myth. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Usikov wants to get back to his feet.
Jacks is looking to take a break and control but Usikov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Still in half guard, Jacks seems content to control. Jacks is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jacks is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Usikov has managed to free his arm - good work. Jacks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Usikov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jacks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jacks wants to work for an arm triangle but Usikov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jacks controlling the pace. Usikov is trying to stand up here but Jacks is controlling him well. Jacks is thwarting Usikov's attempts to control the position. Jacks is looking for a kimura but Usikov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jacks to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Usikov wants to improve his position but Jacks is controlling well.
Jacks trying to control from half guard but Usikov is working away. Jacks controlling the pace. Jacks trying to mount his opponent but Usikov defends it. Jacks is trying to control the action in half guard but Usikov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The fighters are battling for position here. Usikov manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Usikov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jacks manages to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jacks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Usikov is just riding it out for now. Jacks eventually gives up the hold. Jacks is taking a breather. Usikov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Usikov is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jacks seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Usikov is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
