Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yas Uru (ranked 3396 p4p, 167 weight class) and Clint Cartwright (ranked 3446 p4p, 173 weight class). Cartwright is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Total Domination. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cartwright shoots in for a takedown but Uru shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Uru wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Cartwright's coach down at IC&E Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cartwright's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Uru is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cartwright asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Uru lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Cartwright has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Uru.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cartwright crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Uru - the referee stops the clock and Cartwright gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Uru. Cartwright manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Uru fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cartwright has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Uru, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Yas Uru was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
