Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mariusz Pudzianowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariusz Pudzianowski! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kobashi throws a half hearted mid kick. Kobashi tries to clinch up. Pudzianowski keeps the fight on the outside. Pudzianowski scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kobashi sneaks back into half guard. Kobashi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pudzianowski is working away from the top position though. Kobashi misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Pudzianowski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kobashi defends it well. Kobashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kobashi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pudzianowski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pudzianowski jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kobashi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kobashi and Pudzianowski has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pudzianowski is looking to take a break and control but Kobashi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kobashi is looking for a sweep. Pudzianowski is trying to maintain a safe position but Kobashi gets an underhook and turns Pudzianowski into the cage. A right hand to the body from Kobashi.
Pudzianowski takes an elbow to the forehead. Pudzianowski has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kobashi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Kenta Kobashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mariusz Pudzianowski. Kobashi presses Pudzianowski against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Kobashi has Pudzianowski pushed against the cage. That's four minutes gone in the round. Kobashi digs a right hand into Pudzianowski's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pudzianowski's gas tank. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Kobashi stalling.
