Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Baumann (ranked 3200 p4p, 369 weight class) and Marv Ellis (ranked 3701 p4p, 413 weight class). Baumann comes to the cage accompanied by Bombs Over Baghdad. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Baumann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marv Ellis! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis throws a poor cross that misses
letting Baumann counter with a right hand. Baumann misses with a hook. Ellis ducked under it nicely. Ellis scoring well with a low kick there.
Baumann throws a body shot but no joy. Baumann closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ellis to the mat! Ellis manages to get full guard. Ellis is looking for a triangle but Baumann pushes his legs off easily.
Ellis keeping moving, preventing Baumann from controlling successfully. Ellis wants to improve his position but instead Baumann has moved into half guard.
Ellis is trying to maintain the position but Baumann is very close to passing his half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baumann tries to pass to full mount but Ellis defends it. Ellis is defending against the submission attempts here by Baumann.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis looking for submissions off his back. Baumann prevents Ellis from improving his position. Ellis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ellis trying to control the position.
Baumann got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ellis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baumann has managed to get both his arms back between Ellis's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ellis has an active guard here but Baumann has managed to pass into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ellis looking for submissions off his back. Ellis is pressing down on Baumann's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Baumann advances position into side control! Baumann is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ellis has escaped the position, nice work there. Ellis can't do much from the bottom here. Baumann tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Baumann working away. Ellis is looking for a sweep. Ellis tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Baumann presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Ellis sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Baumann is looking for a kimura but Ellis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Baumann to get the leverage. Baumann is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ellis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Baumann. Ellis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Baumann pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baumann is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ellis has managed to free his arm - good work. Ellis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Baumann is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ellis reverses the position - he's now on top in Baumann's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ellis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Adam Baumann dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Baumann shoots in but Ellis avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ellis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Baumann is out of range. Baumann looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Baumann lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Baumann moves into the clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Ellis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Baumann's elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Baumann. Baumann displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ellis up against the cage. Baumann tries to work over Ellis's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ellis doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Baumann is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ellis can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Baumann misses with a short punch on the inside. Ellis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A short right from Ellis on the inside. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Baumann takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Baumann swings wildly with an uppercut but Ellis uses good head movement to avoid it. Baumann tries a body shot but Ellis blocks it.

A short right from Baumann on the inside. Ellis creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Baumann lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ellis backwards.
It looks like Marv Ellis has been cut. Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ellis scores with a spinning back kick! Ellis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Baumann.
Ellis moves out of range as Baumann strikes. Baumann ducks under a wild hook from Ellis.

and Baumann cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Marv Ellis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ellis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Baumann moves away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Danga de danga de dang - Baumann scores with a four punch combination! Baumann works Ellis's body with a nice hook. Baumann ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Baumann was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Marv Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baumann moves into the clinch. Ellis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ellis throws a nice inside leg kick. Ellis connects with the punch. Baumann fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ellis, pushing him back against the cage. Baumann working aggressively here.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Baumann as Ellis tries to tie him up. Ellis digs a right hand underneath Baumann's ribcage. Baumann let out a lung full of air as it connected. Baumann lands with a left to the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Baumann.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Baumann has him pressed against the cage. Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ellis lands a jab to the head.

and Baumann counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ellis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Baumann has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Baumann and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Baumann showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ellis.
A little feinted left hand from Baumann on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Baumann slips under a jab. Ellis swings away with a body shot that misses
and Baumann counters with a lovely straight right hand! Baumann throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ellis sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ellis gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ellis throws a hook to the side of Baumann's head but Baumann sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Baumann throws a good cross that connects.
Ellis moves out of range of the strikes. Nice combo by Baumann! Oh, that's hurt him - Ellis falls to the canvas and Baumann follows him into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ellis is trying to work for a sweep but Baumann has mounted him! Ellis is still in real trouble! Can Baumann finish him? Ellis wants to control but Baumann is having none of it. Baumann goes for an armbar but Ellis turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ellis. Ellis wants to control from the top but Baumann keeps moving. Baumann has his foot on Ellis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ellis works his way back into a safe position though. Ellis seems to have recovered his senses. Baumann tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ellis wants to stand but Baumann is controlling his posture from full guard. Ellis trying to control but Baumann is working from the bottom. Baumann trying to control the position.
Adam Baumann overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Baumann is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ellis is aware though and is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Baumann is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ellis is just riding it out for now. Baumann eventually gives up the hold. Ellis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Ellis is looking for a sweep. Baumann is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Baumann seems to be looking for submissions.
Ellis tries to get to full guard but Baumann has control of the leg. Ellis with the active half guard here but Baumann passes nicely into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baumann is working to tighten his grip on Ellis's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ellis has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Baumann is really squeezing tight and eventually Ellis passes out! Baumann breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
