Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anacleto Proulx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Winters!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winters moves into the clinch.
Winters misses with a punch on the inside.
Proulx blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Winters lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Winters is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Proulx working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Proulx goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Winters swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Proulx escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Winters tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Proulx counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Winters manages to escape and get back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Proulx fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Winters to the ground. Proulx is now in Winters's guard.

Winters is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Proulx is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Winters manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Proulx escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Proulx shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Proulx avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Winters is looking to stand up but Proulx isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Proulx scoring with punches to the head and body.
Winters looking for a sweep. Not yet Winters, not yet.
Proulx knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winters on the ground.

Proulx thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Proulx is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Proulx gets to his feet and stands over Winters, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Winters felt that one! Proulx unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Winters from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anacleto Proulx!
Jonathan Winters spoke after the fight, saying 'I want a title shot!'.
