Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pancho Arechavaleta!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, John Mangel and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riley rushes Arechavaleta and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Arechavaleta breaks from the clinch.

Arechavaleta bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Riley throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Riley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

It looked like Riley was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Pancho Arechavaleta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Arechavaleta tries to land a front kick but Riley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Riley counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Arechavaleta!
Arechavaleta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Riley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Riley stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Riley takes the fight into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Arechavaleta has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Arechavaleta wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Arechavaleta wants to take the fight to the mat but Riley manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Riley jumps guard but Arechavaleta stands there with Riley around his waist. Riley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Arechavaleta is trying to force a seperation but Riley has the dominant position.

Riley goes for a takedown attempt but Arechavaleta pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tuan Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Arechavaleta lands a nice leg kick that just misses Riley's sensitive parts.

Arechavaleta throws a wild body kick that Riley sees coming a mile off.

Arechavaleta shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Riley napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Riley parries the strikes from Arechavaleta easily there. Arechavaleta is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Riley to escape.
Riley is looking to regain half guard here but Arechavaleta keeps moving and retains side control.
Arechavaleta lands an elbow.

Arechavaleta stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tuan Riley will probably get the nod.
That's time! Riley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Oh Riley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Arechavaleta loads up on a big left hand. Riley felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Arechavaleta looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Riley can't hide his disappointment, as Arechavaleta celebrates the victory.
