Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Rock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Cook! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook jabs Rock to the body, keeping him at a distance. Cook tries to clinch up and Rock counters with a series of strikes. Cook will be more careful next time no doubt. Some wild striking there from Cook.
Cook tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rock swats him away and circles back towards the center. An attempted straight right counter from Rock misses the target. Cook throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A counter left hand to the body from Rock misses its target. Cook throws a head kick that misses and Rock counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick by Cook misses and Cook takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cook throws a head kick that misses and Rock counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cook throws a head kick that misses and Rock counters with a right hand to the body. Cook takes the fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook is pushing Rock up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Rock is working Cook over against the cage. Cook throws an elbow but it's blocked.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Cook tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Cook taking a breather. Cook looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cook leaning his opponent against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Bob Cook. Nice body kick from Cook. Cook chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Cook throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A quick step to the side and Rock tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Cook cracks the inside of Rock's front leg. Cook swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rock counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cook tries to clinch up and Cook takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Rock counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rock scores with a jab to the jaw. Cook falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rock counters with a lovely shot to the body. Cook connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rock momentarily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cook fails to land with a series of punches.
Rock is looking to counter punch. Cook moves into the clinch. Cook tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rock doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Cook breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lance Rock will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Rock slowing the pace effectively. Cook tries to throw a body punch but Rock avoids it by throwing Cook back against the cage.

Bob Cook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cook swings and misses with a shot to the body and Cook takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cook throws a lazy head kick and Rock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nice jab there from Cook. Cook swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rock counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Cook has closed the distance and engaged Rock in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook gets through Rock's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rock dodges an elbow strike from Cook.

And that's the end of the fight! Lance Rock showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rock, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
