Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, ahmed oster! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. oster looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! oster is concentrating on defense, preventing Savage from advancing position. oster wants to control but Savage is keeping busy.
Savage keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. oster is defending against the submission attempts here by Savage.
oster works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Savage works a leg free and moves into half guard. Savage with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Savage seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Savage is looking to take a break and control but oster is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Savage working over oster with some ground and pound. oster looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Savage is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Savage is tying to control. oster wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. oster wants to control but Savage is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Savage is taking a breather. oster says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Savage trying to control from half guard but oster is working away. Savage uses his free foot to push down on oster's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for oster. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Savage tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Savage dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Savage gets a clinch. Savage lands a nice elbow. Savage creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. oster jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Savage walks away with a smile on his face. oster gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Savage changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. oster looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Savage wants to lay and pray for a moment but oster keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. oster is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage cracks oster with a big right hand but oster just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Savage tries to move into full mount but can't pass oster's legs. oster takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Savage is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt oster will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Savage working the ground and pound. Savage takes a little break here. oster wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. oster tries to buck Savage off but Savage is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage wants to control but oster is keeping him busy.
The referee stands the fighters back up. John Savage just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Savage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. oster wants to control but Savage postures up. Savage stands up and beckons oster to his feet. Savage has closed the distance and engaged oster in a clinch.
Savage is trying to trip oster. He has hold of a leg but oster is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Savage persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. oster is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Savage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Savage wants to stand but oster has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Savage wants to control from the top but oster keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Savage dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Savage shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. oster preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Savage looking to control the position here, rather than advance. oster has a closed guard, preventing Savage from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Savage has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. oster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Savage looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Savage tries to stand but oster is controlling from the bottom. Savage throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savage scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Savage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Savage pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. oster is keeping the position for now.

Savage controlling from the top position. ahmed oster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! John Savage is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Savage wants to pass the guard but oster is keeping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! John Savage showed his dominance in that final round. Well Savage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
