Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Sola (ranked 5478 p4p, 0 weight class) and William OConnor (ranked 6460 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lorenzo Sola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William OConnor!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sola looks to land a right hand but OConnor moved out of range.
OConnor throws out a counter right but Sola avoids it with no problem.
Sola misses with a body shot.
A big left from Sola misses.
Sola throws a poor cross that misses
and OConnor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sola dodges the punch combination from OConnor.
OConnor defending well as Sola loads up on a big left hand.
OConnor walks into a left hand.
Sola fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches OConnor on the side of the head.
OConnor throws a looping overhand right but Sola ducks down to avoid it.
Sola misses with a wild body shot.
Sola swings for the body but OConnor moves out of range.
OConnor connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A jab from Sola misses.
Sloppy strikes from OConnor. Those never looked like landing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sola shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
OConnor bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sola tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but OConnor was well out of range. Poor timing from Sola.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sola missing with a left hand there. OConnor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from OConnor! But no joy.
OConnor goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

OConnor cracks Sola with a good jab.
OConnor walks into a straight right hand from Sola.
OConnor drops Sola with a beautiful combination! Sola stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - OConnor is looking for the KO!
Sola is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OConnor lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Sola up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs OConnor from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Sola's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). William OConnor!
