Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kalju Kulli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Suoer Minger!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minger tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kulli sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Minger somewhat.
Minger tries to keep at a distance but Kulli has taken the fight into the clinch.
Minger can't find room to land a body shot as Kulli controls the action.
Kulli throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Kulli pulls Minger into guard.
Kulli controlling Minger's posture.
Kulli continues to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kulli tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Minger throws an elbow that misses. Kulli uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Minger's guard. Nice move by Kulli!
Kulli throws a big elbow that misses.
Minger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kulli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kulli looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kulli thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kulli pushes down on Minger's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kulli stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Minger to get to his feet.
Minger misses with a takedown
and Kulli counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kulli lands a big head kick that sends Minger tumbling to the mat! Kulli takes a step backwards and waves Minger back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Minger is rocked!
It looks like Suoer Minger has been cut.
Kulli lands with a shot to the body.
Minger is still on wobbly legs! Can Kulli finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Minger circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Kulli. Minger falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Kulli!
