Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leif Cross (ranked 6494 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Jones Jr (ranked 6444 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leif Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Jones Jr! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones Jr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones Jr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones Jr wants to clinch. Cross fails with the takedown and Jones Jr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Roy Jones Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No joy there for Jones Jr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As Jones Jr backs away, Cross returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Jones Jr misses with a series of wild punches.
Cross tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jones Jr manages to circle out of the way.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones Jr scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cross throws out a loose jab but Jones Jr uses good head movement to avoid it. Jones Jr closes the distance and clinches. Cross pulls guard effortlessly. Jones Jr throws a big elbow that misses. Cross has control of Jones Jr's left arm, preventing Jones Jr from doing any damage. Cross is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cross is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones Jr is trying to stand up here but Cross is controlling him well. Cross lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones Jr can do anything to dispel that myth. Cross is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones Jr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cross. Cross is looking for a kimura but Jones Jr is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cross to get the leverage. Jones Jr looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross drops an elbow to the side of Jones Jr's head. Jones Jr blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cross. Cross throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Cross is looking for a kimura here.
Cross looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cross throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Cross thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cross wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones Jr is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cross drops an elbow to the side of Jones Jr's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leif Cross dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jones Jr scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Jones Jr connects with a single shot there. Jones Jr has closed the distance and engaged Cross in a clinch.
Jones Jr wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cross drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones Jr pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jones Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheers as Jones Jr lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cross doesn't seem phased though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones Jr misses with a series of wild punches.

Jones Jr is breathing heavily. Cross slips a jab and a cross from Jones Jr.
Cross seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Jones Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cross was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones Jr. Cross shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones Jr pinned against the cage. Jones Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cross moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones Jr wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cross has him pressed against the cage. Cross breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones Jr lands a body shot.
Cross shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cross's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jones Jr throws a counter combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leif Cross. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones Jr scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Jones Jr misses with the combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jones Jr shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cross eats them both and turns towards Jones Jr to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Jones Jr doesn't manage to clinch there - Cross circles away.
Cross closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones Jr's guard. Jones Jr is looking to stand back up but Cross counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jones Jr. Leif Cross overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cross winds up and cracks Jones Jr with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Cross working the head and body with strikes. Cross lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Cross landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cross is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones Jr defends it well. Cross is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones Jr sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Jones Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones Jr gets caught napping as Cross dives in and scores a takedown. Jones Jr manages to retain guard. Cross is working Jones Jr over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones Jr working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cross. Cross postures up in Jones Jr's guard and throws a big left but Jones Jr blocks it. Cross cracks Jones Jr with a solid left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones Jr has momentary wrist control but Cross slips an elbow through the middle. Cross throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones Jr works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cross loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cross postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jones Jr takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jones Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cross working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones Jr's head. Cross decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones Jr, up you get! Cross gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cross misses with an elbow strike.

Cross ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cross no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jones Jr seems to have recovered his senses. Jones Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Cross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cross is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cross is on top in guard.

Cross is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones Jr has wrist control. Cross with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Cross makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cross postures up and lands a big shot to Jones Jr's brow. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cross content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cross gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
