Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Top Shelf (ranked 3060 p4p, 408 weight class) and Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 5876 p4p, 655 weight class). Alvarez has chosen Eminem–Phenomenal as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shelf.
Alvarez misses with a double jab
and Shelf counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Alvarez ducks under a wild hook from Shelf.
Alvarez just misses with a punch to the body.
Shelf avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Alvarez throws a leg kick which misses Shelf's front leg but catches the back leg as Shelf tries to avoid it.

Shelf chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alvarez can pounce on him.
Alvarez misses with a two punch combination.
Shelf drops his hands for a split second and Alvarez immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Shelf face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Alvarez follows up with a right hand that knocks Shelf into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ricardo Alvarez spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
