Studd's coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Strait is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Strait should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strait in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Studd tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Strait!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Scott Strait! Scott Strait spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
