Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patricio Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Diehard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Diehard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patricio Lima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Diehard!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lima fails to land the takedown.
Lima throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diehard's waist but Diehard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lima off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patricio Lima. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Diehard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lima's guard.
Lima is breathing heavily.
Lima avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Diehard's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lima might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lima pushes Diehard off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Diehard throws a sloppy head kick and Lima moves out of range easily.

Diehard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lima to the mat! Lima manages to get full guard.
Lima keeping moving, preventing Diehard from controlling successfully.

Diehard gets to his feet. Lima looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Diehard drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lima could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Diehard stands up.

Diehard looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Diehard working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Diehard gets to his feet - Lima follows without any prompting.
Diehard looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Diehard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Lima takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Diehard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Diehard is landing with some decent strikes but Lima is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diehard controlling the pace for now.

Diehard tries to control but Lima wriggling away.

Diehard moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lima has worked his arm free - good work by Lima!
Lima on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lima tries to get out of the position.
Diehard postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Lima can't do much from the bottom here.
Lima is being controlled here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Diehard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lima, who protects the arm well.

Diehard stands up.
Lima misses with a takedown

and Diehard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lima won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diehard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lima keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diehard misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Diehard dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Lima gets a takedown into half guard.

Diehard has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Lima. Oh but Diehard has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Lima goes limp - he's gone! Diehard jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Steve Diehard!
