PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kip Kipper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the World. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miles showed some decent athleticism there.

Kipper tries to pull guard but Miles holds him up against the cage and eventually Kipper drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miles controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Miles on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Miles tries to get out of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Miles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kipper swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kipper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miles gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Kipper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kipper tries to pull guard but Miles holds him up against the cage and eventually Kipper drops back down to his feet.

Kipper wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Miles has him pressed against the cage.
Miles jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kipper walks away with a smile on his face. Miles gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kipper misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kipper looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kipper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kipper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Miles scores with a jab to the jaw.
Kipper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miles swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Horrible takedown by Kipper or perhaps it was just good defense by Miles which made him look bad.

Kipper closes the distance and clinches up with Miles, looking for a takedown. Kipper pushes Miles against the cage but Miles circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kipper is trying to drag Miles to the mat but Miles just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kipper controls Miles momentarily but Miles frees himself.

Kipper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Miles is really struggling to control Kipper but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well Miles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
