Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doug Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cai Mao! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mao swinging wildly here.
Mao throws a head kick that misses and Bell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Mao throws a body punch but Bell moves out of range. Bell takes a swing at Mao's ribcage but misses. Cai Mao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mao. It looked like Bell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Mao throws a series of strikes that have Bell backpedaling.
Bell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bell moves out of range as Mao throws a body kick.
Mao ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bell moves away. It looked like Bell was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mao. Mao gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bell. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mao throws a nice looking combination but Bell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mao throws a head kick that misses and Bell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bell slips a jab and a cross from Mao.
Bell lands with a straight right. Mao didn't see that one coming. Bell lands a jab to the head.
Bell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mao at a distance.
Mao looks winded! Mao throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mao is rocked! Mao throws a nice looking combination but Bell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. It looked like Bell was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mao. Bell scores with a hook to the body. Mao takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mao was well out of range. Poor timing from Bell. Mao throws a sloppy body shot
and Bell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mao is still on wobbly legs! Can Bell finish him? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mao swings and misses with a shot to the body and Bell counters with a nice body shot. Bell closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Mao out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doug Bell!
