PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Davos Seaworth (ranked 4129 p4p, 504 weight class) and Wallace Cobb (ranked 4345 p4p, 527 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Seaworth might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Oakhelm - Of Wood and Blood. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Davos Seaworth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wallace Cobb!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobb misses with an uppercut. Seaworth saw that one coming.
Cobb has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Seaworth is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Cobb throws out a loose jab but Seaworth uses good head movement to avoid it.
Seaworth shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Davos Seaworth has been cut.
Seaworth has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cobb misses with a hook

so Seaworth counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Cobb scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Cobb throws a looping overhand right but Seaworth ducks down to avoid it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cobb can do anything to dispel that myth.

Seaworth is nestled in close to Cobb, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cobb has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Seaworth has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Cobb looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Cobb pushes Seaworth away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Seaworth gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cobb might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Seaworth looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cobb with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
