Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Pettis (ranked 3861 p4p, 364 weight class) and Asa Sharp (ranked 3837 p4p, 359 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Anthony Pettis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Anthony Pettis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Pettis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 20 - 2, fighting out of New York, Asa Sharp! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettis misses with an uppercut. Sharp saw that one coming. Pettis throws a right hand that misses
and Sharp cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pettis looks to throw the jab but Sharp is out of range. Pettis tries to clinch there but Sharp circles away.
Sharp tries to counter by closing the distance. Sharp throws a head kick that Pettis semi-blocks.
It looks like Anthony Pettis has been cut. Sharp shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sharp showed some decent athleticism there.
Pettis is rocked! Sharp trying to control the pace. Sharp is looking to advance position but Pettis won't allow it. Sharp works his way into full mount! Sharp looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sharp with good strikes from the mount here! Pettis wants to get back to his feet.
Sharp lands with some strikes. Sharp working for a submission but Pettis is keeping him at bay. Sharp takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sharp's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Sharp with the ground and pound from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sharp lands with some strikes. Sharp looking to control and managing it successfully. Pettis trying desperately to get to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sharp lands a heavy elbow. Sharp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sharp get's back to his feet. Pettis has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sharp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sharp closes the distance and pushes Pettis back into the cage. Sharp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sharp manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pettis on his heels. He'll look to pass Pettis's guard now, I'm sure. Sharp passes into half guard. Sharp takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sharp decides to return to a standing position. Pettis misses with a right hand enabling Sharp to counter with a crisp jab. Pettis throws a hook to the side of Sharp's head but Sharp sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pettis throws a jab but it's blocked by Sharp. Sharp steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Sharp feints and as Pettis raises his hands in defense, Sharp changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Pettis is wriggling around but Sharp manages to pass to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sharp scoring with strikes to the body and head. Sharp works his way into side control. Sharp is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. It looks like Sharp might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pettis is trying to buck Sharp off. Sharp advances to full mount. Sharp tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asa Sharp dominated that round. The cut man is working on Anthony Pettis's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Sharp counters with a shoot takedown. Pettis fights it but they end up in guard. Pettis is wriggling around but Sharp manages to pass to half guard.
Sharp controlling the action here. Pettis is looking to escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sharp moves nicely into side control. Pettis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sharp has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis is being controlled here. Sharp is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Pettis looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sharp gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Pettis is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sharp lets go of the hold and Pettis can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Asa Sharp! After winning the bout, Asa Sharp thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
