Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Epithet Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Epithet Valentine has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Epithet Valentine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Lima! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentine shoots in for a takedown but Lima shows good takedown defense. Lima closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Valentine is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Lima is working for a submission of some sort.
Lima looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lima trying to mount his opponent but Valentine defends it. Lima is looking to take a break and control but Valentine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lima is working for a kimura but Valentine is defending it quite comfortably.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Lima prevents Valentine from improving his position. Lima wants to pass to mount but Valentine is defending the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Valentine misses with a takedown attempt and Lima decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valentine's guard. Valentine keeping moving, preventing Lima from controlling successfully. Lima tries to free his leg and advance position but Valentine is retaining full guard. Lima looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lima tries to stand but Valentine is controlling from the bottom. Valentine had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lima is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Valentine Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lima's back instead. Lima is really stuck here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lima breaks Valentine's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Lima advances to half guard. Valentine wants to improve his position but Lima is controlling well.

Valentine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lima is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine is working hard here to advance position. Lima pushing down on Valentine's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Valentine wants to improve his position but Lima is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Valentine shoots and misses and Lima counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Epithet Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Valentine is looking for a sweep. Lima working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lima misses with the ground and pound. Lima works to advance to full mount. Valentine defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Valentine is trying to escape the mount.
Lima fails to move to back control. Lima landing punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lima is trying to take his opponent's back.
Valentine is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Lima dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Valentine gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lima counters with a nice double leg into guard. Lima trying to control the position from guard on top but Valentine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valentine working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lima. Lima is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Valentine is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Valentine has escaped and now he's on top! Lima working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Valentine doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Lima is tightening it up a little... Valentine has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Valentine reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Valentine taps out! nice BJJ there by Lima!
