Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Quinn Cambridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cambridge rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mendes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And Mendes tries to counter it with a takedown but Cambridge pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mendes doesn't manage to clinch there - Cambridge circles away.
Quinn Cambridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cambridge misses with a leg kick

and Mendes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cambridge wants to get back to his feet.
Cambridge on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cambridge tries to get out of the position.

Mendes trying to control the pace.
Cambridge pushes Mendes off looking to stand but Mendes dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendes not doing much here.

Mendes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cambridge wants to control but Mendes is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mendes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cambridge is looking for a sweep. Mendes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cambridge is defending against the submission attempts here by Mendes.
Still in half guard, Mendes seems content to control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mendes looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Mendes controlling the pace.
Cambridge is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cambridge is looking to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mendes moves out of range of the body kick from Cambridge.
Cambridge defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mendes.
Cambridge is looking for a counter combo.
Mendes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cambridge is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Cambridge shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cambridge showed some decent athleticism there.

Mendes is staying active underneath Cambridge, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cambridge works his foot free and advances to mount.

Mendes can't escape the position.

Cambridge drives through and clinches with Mendes against the cage.

Cambridge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mendes tries for a takedown but Cambridge circles away easily
and Cambridge connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch but Cambridge swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cambridge is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Mendes.
Cambridge throws a head kick that misses.

Mendes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mendes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cambridge is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mendes's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mendes in particular looking to stall.

Cambridge is trying to control but can't.
Cambridge is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mendes can do to turn this around?
Mendes wants to pass the guard but Cambridge is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mendes is thwarting Cambridge's attempts to control the position.

Cambridge has Mendes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cambridge pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mendes tumbling to the mat - Cambridge dives into Mendes's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mendes gets caught napping as Cambridge dives in and scores a takedown. Mendes manages to retain guard.

Cambridge tries to free his leg and advance position but Mendes is retaining full guard.
Mendes wants to hit a switch here but Cambridge passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mendes there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Cambridge throws a sloppy head kick and Mendes moves out of range easily.

Cambridge fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mendes, pushing him back against the cage.
Mendes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cambridge walks away with a smile on his face. Mendes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Cambridge gets a clinch.
Cambridge looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cambridge can't break the clinch.
Mendes is trying to pull guard but Cambridge turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Cambridge's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mendes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cambridge looking to sit in guard and control but Mendes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mendes content to stall in guard here.

Cambridge looking for a sweep. Not yet Cambridge, not yet.
Mendes stands and throws Cambridge's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mendes is looking to take a break and control but Cambridge is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cambridge tries to buck Mendes off but Mendes is having none of it.

Mendes is trying to get an arm triangle but Cambridge is defending well.
Cambridge pushes Mendes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mendes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cambridge is looking to regain half guard here but Mendes keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cambridge is trying to control Mendes's posture but Mendes avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cambridge tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mendes is staying tight to Cambridge's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mendes is continuing to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Quinn Cambridge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mendes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cambridge, pushing him back against the cage.
Mendes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cambridge walks away with a smile on his face. Mendes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Quinn Cambridge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Mendes.
Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cambridge paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mendes shoots in and drives through. Cambridge sprawls well.
Cambridge appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Mendes has closed the distance and engaged Cambridge in a clinch.
Mendes is trying to pull guard but Cambridge has him pressed against the cage.

Mendes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cambridge to keep the fight standing.
Rafael Mendes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Quinn Cambridge is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cambridge avoids the elbow strike from Mendes, against the cage.
Cambridge managing to block the knees to the body from Mendes.
