Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander White (ranked 23406 p4p, 745 weight class) and Marcos Machado (ranked 5094 p4p, 543 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White fails with a takedown attempt.
And Machado tries to counter it with a takedown but White pushes his down on his head and steps out.

White closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machado circles away.

Machado looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Machado winds up and cracks White with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Machado looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

White moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

White is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Machado scores with a couple of nice shots.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

White has hold of Machado's hands but Machado slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Well, if Machado is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Machado connects with a nice short shot to White's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Machado is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Machado working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like Machado might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Machado shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says White as he avoids it easily.

Machado feints and as White raises his hands in defense, Machado changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Machado stands up over White, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Machado is in close to White's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The fighters are working up against the cage. White manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Machado's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Machado wants to break the clinch but can't.

White breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White shoots in but no luck this time.
Machado tries to move into range but White moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Machado shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
White appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Machado dives in and grabs White's left leg, looking for a takedown. White pushes down on Machado's head and hops out.
Alexander White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Machado.

White fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Machado.
Machado goes for a double leg but White avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as White continues to drive forward.
