Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demitrious Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Law tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Law circles away easily
and Law counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Johnson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Law gets the takedown into side control.
Johnson dodges the ground and pound from Law.
Law controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Law trying to control the position but Johnson is working away.

Johnson can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson is trying to control Law's posture but Law avoids it.
Law is putting a hurting on Johnson here, landing some big shots from side control.

Law creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Law postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Law decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Johnson gets a takedown into half guard.
Law keeping hold of Johnson's head, controlling as best he can.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.
Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Law is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Law makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Law.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Law keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Law looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.
Law looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damien Law dominated that round.

Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.

Law drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Law has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Law knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Law can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Johnson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Law sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Law shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Law is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control.
Law is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Law has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.

Johnson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Law should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Johnson has tightened it up now! Law should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
