Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Dickens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Batista! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dickens ducks right into an uppercut from Batista.
It looks like Bobby Dickens has been cut. Dickens avoids the body shot from Batista.
Dickens shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dickens was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Dickens controlling his opponent. Dickens trying to control but he's not successful this time. Dickens with good strikes from the mount here! A nice elbow there by Dickens. Dickens thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's one minute gone in the round. Batista's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Dickens sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Dickens connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Batista manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. Batista is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dickens sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Batista defending well though. Dickens tries to stand and escape but Batista is controlling the position. Batista trying to hold on to Dickens's head to control him but Dickens postures up.
Dickens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Batista's head. Dickens missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dickens gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Batista gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dickens. Dickens wants to land a leg kick but Batista is out of range. Jab by Batista. Dickens takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Dickens thuds his right hand into Batista's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Dickens throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Batista looks gassed! Dickens lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Batista at a distance.
Dickens with a jab. Dickens throws a sloppy head kick and Batista moves out of range easily. Dickens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dickens works Batista's body with a nice hook. Dickens drops Batista with a right and a left! Dickens comes rushing in but Batista regains his composure and manages to keep Dickens in guard.

It looks like Joao Batista has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dickens trying to control the position from guard on top but Batista is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Batista is still in real trouble! Can Dickens finish him? Dickens wants to stand but Batista has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Batista seems to have recovered his senses. Dickens is working Batista over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dickens chips away with some ground and pound. Dickens throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Batista works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dickens thows a big elbow that misses. Dickens thows a big elbow that misses. Dickens decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Batista, up you get! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dickens throws a series of strikes that have Batista backpedaling.
Batista takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Dickens stalks Batista and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Batista's face. Batista staggers backwards, shaken. Dickens rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Batista moves out of range and avoids them all easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Dickens dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Dickens counters with a two punch combo. Dickens goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Dickens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Batista manages to avoid it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dickens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Batista swats him away and circles back towards the center. Batista fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dickens, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Batista breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bobby Dickens is winning the standup battle so far. Batista takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Dickens throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Batista stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Dickens moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dickens lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Batista sprawling to the canvas. Dickens follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Batista hang on? Dickens missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dickens winds up and cracks Batista with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dickens working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Batista trying to control here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A jab-cross combination lands for Dickens and sends Batista crashing to the mat! Dickens follows him down to the mat - Batista regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet! Dickens throwing shots but Batista is blocking nicely. Dickens thows a huge punch but Batista dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dickens connects with a nice short shot to Batista's temple. Dickens slows the pace down in half guard. Dickens throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Batista tries to kick Dickens off in order to stand up. Dickens Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dickens lands with an overhand left. Dickens darts in trying to clinch and Batista counters with a left and a right that stings Dickens. Dickens has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Batista finds it's way round the side to connect with Dickens's head. Dickens swinging wilding here.

Batista's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Batista takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dickens lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dickens. Dickens Rushes Batista and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Batista is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Dickens Piles on the pressure and Batista crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
