The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurudinov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Nurudinov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Mahones lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Nurudinov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Nurudinov drops an elbow to the side of Mahones's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nurudinov is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Mahones is hurt! He's hurt bad - Nurudinov fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Mahones from any more punishment! Congratulations to Nurudinov! Great finish!
