Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Markson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Markson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joey Marks! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Markson has managed to clinch.
Marks prevents a takedown attempt there.
Markson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Markson is trying to control the action in half guard but Marks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Markson works his way into side control. Marks sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Markson is looking for a kimura here.
Markson stalling away here and it's allowed Marks to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Markson throws and elbow that misses. Marks uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Markson's guard. Nice move by Marks! Markson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Markson is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Markson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Markson trying to control the position from guard on top but Marks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Markson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marks is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Markson, into his guard.

Markson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Marks to score with a decent uppercut. Marks darts in and clinches Markson up against the cage. Markson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Marks gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Marks's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Marks darts in and clinches Markson up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Markson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Marks drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Markson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Markson keeps control of Marks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Marks is fighting off a takedown attempt but Markson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Marks to the mat. Marks regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Markson wants to control from the top but Marks keeps moving. Markson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Marks manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Markson has Marks in his guard. Markson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Marks has picked Markson up and slammed him! Markson can't keep hold of the triangle and Marks manages to pass to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kyle Markson will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Markson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Markson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Markson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Marks has managed to free his arm - good work. Markson wants to pass to mount but Marks is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Markson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Marks sees it coming and defends easily. Markson is trying to work for a kimura but Marks is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Markson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kyle Markson dominated that second round. That's time! Markson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Nice takedown defense from Marks. No joy for Markson on that attempt. Marks throws the left hand but Markson avoids the punch easily. Markson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Marks darts in trying to clinch and Markson moves into the clinch. Marks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Markson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Markson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Markson shoots for a double leg takedown but Marks sprawls well. He's pushed Markson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Marks scores with a punch to the head. Marks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Markson has gone for a leg lock! Marks slips out almost immediately though and dives into Markson's guard. Marks is pushing down on Markson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Markson is fighting to maintain full guard but Marks has managed to sneak the leg through. Markson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Markson regains full guard. Nicely done. Markson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Markson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Markson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marks controls the pace. Markson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Markson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Marks is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Markson. Kyle Markson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Markson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Oh but Markson is tightening it up a little... Marks has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Marks reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Marks taps out! nice BJJ there by Markson!
